My Journey into Real Estate
Over 25 years ago, my real estate journey began with the purchase of my first home in Orange County, California. The experience was transformative and showed me how a great agent can do more than help someone buy a home—they can empower clients to navigate one of life's most important decisions, leaving a lasting positive impact. My real estate agent guided me through significant challenges, providing insights and options I hadn't known existed, and ultimately helped me achieve my dream of homeownership. This experience inspired me to become a licensed REALTOR® in California in the late 1990s while still pursuing higher education.
Education & Diverse Experience
I graduated from UC Irvine (California) with a Criminology, Law & Society degree and a minor in English Writing. Initially, I planned to attend law school at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, but life had other ideas. After relocating to the Carolinas, I was presented with an opportunity to work as a literary agent, a role that aligned with my lifelong passion for reading and writing. However, the reality of constantly rejecting hopeful authors proved unfulfilling, so I shifted my focus to my writing career.
Writing and Publishing Career
For over a decade, I dedicated myself to a successful writing career, publishing eight novels under a pen name and ghostwriting for several others. I also built a thriving business providing editing, marketing, and publishing services to fellow authors, finding immense satisfaction in helping others achieve their literary dreams. Despite the rewarding nature of this work, I eventually found myself missing the personal, face-to-face connections and dynamic challenges that real estate offered.
A New Chapter: Returning to Real Estate
